Subject 1. Our "Rare Earth" and its Climate History
The six Lessons on this subject could be regarded as the macro side of climate science. We learn how the Earth was formed, the concept of its energy budget and detailed descriptions of the 21 powerful climate drivers that (surprising to many people) exist, not counting greenhouse gasses.
Lesson 4. Topics:
Wind - Technical Explanation, Global Wind Patterns, How Winds Control El Nino, Aerosols, Aerosol Particulates Sources and Composition, Size distribution of particulates, Climate effects, Water Vapour, Cloud, Rain & Snow, Water Vapour is a Gas but Water Droplets in Clouds are Aerosols, Supersaturation, Relative Humidity & Cloud Seeding, Rainfall and Temperature, Snow and Climate, Mineral Dust, Dust impact on climate and environment, Iron-rich Dust Fuelled 4 Million Years of Ice Ages
Lesson Summary
All of this lesson is crucial to understanding climate. The two things that stood out for me were the explanation of supersaturation and the way dust travels around the world and how important it is.
